Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has always had an insatiable passion to share the Word of God with the whole world. This comes from a very young age, as he was born into a big Christian family, that embraces a pure Christian message. Growing up in a household where his father, Elder T.E (Tim) Oyakhilome, was one of the pioneers of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City, Pastor Chris was exposed to spiritual leadership from a young age and went on his first crusade at the age of nine.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was always going to achieve great things, so this lead up to the founding of Christ Embassy, also known as LoveWorld Inc., in 1987. The ministry today is a global network of some 145 branches of Christ Embassy Churches on five continents, reaching and impacting millions of members across the world.
Pastor Chris’ Sibling Pride
It is only natural that all the siblings were influenced by the Christian way of life. Pastor Chris’ brother Ken is an esteemed Pastor of the Christ Embassy Church in Houston, Texas, where he is also a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council.
Celebrating her birthday yesterday, Pastor Chris’s sister, Evangelist Kathy Woghiren, director of the LoveWorld Music & Arts Ministry (LMAM) and the LoveWorld Creative Arts Academy, is a much-loved member of the LoveWorld family, as is evident by the messages pouring in on all social media platforms.
Her songwriting talent has led to some of the most famous LoveWorld songs. She wrote the anthem “I Believe In Nigeria”, and last year she won Songwriter of the year with the hit song ‘Awesome Majesty’ at the prestigious LIMA Awards Ceremony 2022.
Beaming with pride, Pastor Chris remarked that the song, which was sung repeatedly across the globe at its release, was the best-ever written song in the year.
“For me, I don’t think I’ve seen a better-written song than this one. The lyrics are exceptional and the singing was full of passion and love, deeply communicated,” the man of God enthused.
Music and the arts are powerful tools for evangelism, soul-winning, healing, and the ministration of the Word in such a way that the gospel is forever beautifully engraved in the hearts of our audience.

Another source of pride for Pastor Chris is his beloved children and grandchild.
Well-known in the gospel singers community, Pastor Chris’ oldest daughter Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome, or CSO is a rising gospel singer in her own right. She was inspired by her father’s teachings and is also an inspiring leader of the Global Youth Leaders Forum. She married in 2018, and in 2021 gave birth to Pastor Chris’ first grandchild.
Her sister Charlene prefers to stay out of the limelight and less is known about her.
Our man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has so much to celebrate. After an epic year last year, the ‘Year of the Gathering Clouds’, we can’t wait to see what is in store for this year, the ‘Year of the Prolific Church’.
