Naomi Ekpoki Aliyu is a 20 year old inspiring and innovative social activist with a passion for helping disadvantaged and at risk youth across different communities in Northern Nigeria.
Naomi was the star prize winner of this year’s Future African Leaders Award (FALA) among many other outstanding young leaders from across the continent. The awards were granted as part of the 31st of December Service with Pastor Chris, bringing in the new year of 2018.
Her prize was awarded due to her outstanding contribution to the society around her, identifying her as a key young African leader of her generation. She started several youth groups across several high schools where she organized motivational booth camps, arts and crafts workshops as well as tutorial services for math and other relevant topics. All this to enable them to pass their exams in the best way possible, setting those children for a better future.
Naome’s main motivation for working with youth was witnessing the hardship of orphans and other at-risk youth struggle to succeed and make a life for themselves in Nigeria. Their financial challenges and society barriers moved her to create a foundation and organize several campaigns raising funding from sponsors for scholarships and other school amenities. Aliyu is determined to prevent these children from falling between the cracks of the system into a life of crime or delinquency. Over 1700 high school students are currently beneficiaries of this admirable initiative.
Congratulation to the 2017 FALA star prize winner! Naomi is more than deserving of this prestigious award and will most definitely have a great future as an African leader in the years to come.
God bless!
