The LoveWorld Convocation was decorated to reflect the joyous atmosphere of the Christmas Eve Service. Attendees were resplendent in their glamorous, glittering outfits as they were uplifted and edified by the musical ministrations of the LMAM artists. The atmosphere was expectant as everyone was waiting to hear seasonal sermons from the lips of our Man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
A wonderful global service
It was a truly global service with messages sent from places as far as the United Kingdom, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, the United States, Nigeria, and Lebanon. This really enhanced the atmosphere and elevated the celebration as the international family radiated the glory of the season.
The panel discussion of their favorite moments at Christmas was pertinent. One insight we can all relate to was having a moment of revelation from Pastor Chris when he teaches. One insight given was about the fourth man who came to visit Jesus. In learning that we are the fourth man it “increased my awareness of the responsibility we have with the gospel.” The panel agreed that we receive a message like that every Christmas when Pastor Chris preaches.
Pastor Chris’s Christmas sermon
Pastor Chris wanted to share three important things to remember when we ask why Christmas? In recalling Luke 19:10 “for the son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Pastor Chris said” Jesus came to give us a purpose. God never creates anything without a purpose – He let you come into this world for a purpose. Discover your purpose and fulfill it.” He invited us to” imagine if you knew that you were born to die for many, what life would you live?” Jesus lived a life where he sought out the lost, the sick and needy and he helped them.
Pastor Chris said that Jesus came to give us life. Pastor Chris explained that every life has a purpose. We have to look for that purpose and ask ourselves why did that person come into my life. Taking it further the third thought was that Jesus came to bring us into union with God. “Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.”
Musical ministerings that were full of abundant joy
Deacon Buchi and Snypa were of many acts ministering at the special Christmas Eve Service with Pastor Chris. The Chosen ministered live from South Africa and the UK Band performed from England. Eli J delighted us with a Christmas number. Testimony Jaga and his Gospel Street Crew emitted energy in a top performance. Pastor Saki and his younger brother were delightful together.
There was a segment that contained a powerful mix of spoken word, film and carols. The film was taken from a brand-new movie called” The Savior.” Pastor announced that the film will be available in full on Christmas Day and Boxing day. Pastor Chris promised us a surprise and the global audience was excited to hear who was honored in a new set of awards.
Christian Entertainment International Awards
Presented by Pastor TT Edum – the X Factor himself he said these awards were a historic first. In the ‘Best Presentation Individual Category’ Little Sofia, Deola, Sofie and Rita Soul were nominated. Rita Soul was overwhelmed when she won. ‘Best Presentation Group Category’ the UK Band were the winners. The five songs were all winners coming from UK Band, Pastor Saki, Deacon Buchi and Snypa, Eli J and Rita Soul. The Best Song of the night went to Pastor Saki.
Dancing for joy
Three youthful dance troops performed an astonishing dance number all over the Convocation Arena in a rousing and glorious finish. There was much joy and celebration as Pastor Chris blessed the talented dancers for their future. All the pastors joined in with a joyful round of “we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.”
