We just concluded the September Global Communion Service with Our Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
He made the announcement that this month of September is our ‘Month of Harvest’ to the excited crowd There are four months left of the ‘Year of the Prolific Church‘. Pastor Chris emphasizes that the Lord is reminding us of our primary call to soul-winning.
So, this month of Harvest we are winning souls everywhere, setting up cells everywhere, and giving lavishly to the work of the Lord. These are the primary things that we must do.
Pastor Chris told us to be decisive about these objectives, as soul-winning is God’s primary business, and we are God’s greatest assets on earth.
“Until you start winning people for Jesus, you’re not involved in God’s asset building. The Lord is always reaching out to the unsaved, to touch their lives with His power and glory; but He can only do so through you. Therefore, you must always be passionate about soul winning,” Pastor Chris has told us numerous times in the past.
You will receive a harvest on your giving, says Pastor Chris
It is written in John 4:35 “Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”
John 4:38 continues: “I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.”
Pastor Chris read from Luke 10:2: “Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Throughout the Global Communion Service, Pastor Chris was sharing nuggets of wisdom with the global community who were listening intently to the messages from the Man of God.
Pastor Chris told us that more and more nations will find themselves in financial difficulty which has been well orchestrated, but God’s people have a way out, by giving. Giving is the way, giving into God’s work, the pastor explained saying, “In giving into God’s work, you are furthering God’s work.”
“The more you give into God’s work, the more you ensure your own financial freedom and prosperity.”
He continued to say: “It is God’s responsibility to give you a harvest on your giving.”
The concept of giving
Pastor Chris reminds us that one of the most central values in Christianity is the concept of giving. Through giving, the Word of God ensures constant and continuous economic prosperity, this is the harvest.
Many people overlook and disregard the importance of giving. Additionally, they are not as eager to give as they are to receive. Yet the promised blessing is to the giver and not to the receiver. And thus, as Jesus said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive”.
“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
God can grace you with every blessing and favor in richness. This is not just about money. Giving or receiving. The Word of Jesus was about the entire concept of giving. Sow the seed of anything good you want from life in others, it will then grow and multiply in your own life. Remember:
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matthew 7:12)
“God’s blessings turn back to you in abundance” – Pastor Chris
Pastor Chris explained this concept very clearly at the September Global Communion Service when he said:
“In spite of what’s happening, God’s blessing turns back to you in abundance. He’s taking you from the mentality and consciousness of lack and want into the consciousness of Grace.”
He further expanded on this by adding: “If He can change your state of mind to think like Him, then your prosperity will start flowing.”
“He tells you to excel in the grace of giving. It brings you to a level of thinking that is different. The moment God can create that consciousness in your spirit, things start coming to you.”
In a beautiful message he reminds us of what Jesus said: “Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive. The giver has a promise. The receiver doesn’t have a promise.”
Always remember, “The needy requires someone to be gracious towards him but the giver demonstrates grace which is in the nature of God.”
Even though this is not the reason for giving, Pastor Chris remarked that when you give graciously, with an open heart and no ulterior motive, your business will prosper through your giving.
“Promotion doesn’t come from the east, west or south. It comes from God.”
