The President of LoveWorld Inc., Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has issued a solemn call on God’s people to be spiritually minded. He emphasized the importance of spiritual mindedness as against earthly or worldly-mindedness at the just-concluded February Global Communion Service, where he encouraged the global audience to “think, talk and walk in the ways of Jesus!”
Word of God
Pastor Chris explained that God wants His children to be spiritually discerning, heralding that therein lies their success and victory throughout this month and beyond. Having been born of God in the Spirit, every Christian’s consciousness ought to be spiritual, he emphasized as he cautioned the global audience to refrain from earthly mindedness, which breeds death. The man of God charged the saints to rightly judge the spur behind their actions and to be imitators of Jesus Christ, who was ever-spiritual. This can only be achieved through constant study and meditation on the scriptures that he teaches us.
There is nothing more important than the Word of God, as Pastor Chris reminded us at “Your LoveWorld Special”, that the quality of your life depends on the quality of the words that you hear. There is a blessing for hearing the word and an even greater blessing for responding to the Word.
He always conveys that our happiness is our responsibility, saying “You have to make yourself happy continually because your happy spirit dictates everything about your life. If for any reason, you’re feeling downcast or unhappy, get into the Word and fan the embers of your joy.”
Your happiness as a Christian isn’t dependent on your circumstances or situation. Happiness is one of the results of joyfulness, and joyfulness is a fruit of your recreated human spirit, nourished through the Word of God.
Year of Preparation
So far the ‘Year of Preparation‘ has consisted of January, the ‘Month of Celebration’, when we expressed our gratitude to the Lord for all the blessings He prepared for us this year; for the prosperity, health, peace, and joy that He has granted us! Pastor Chris teaches us to do this with joy and thanksgiving, and see our lives grow and prosper, becoming even more effective and glorious!
On another occasion, the Bible says He “…rejoiced in spirit…” (Luke 10:21); that means He celebrated and exulted in the spirit, all by Himself; rejoicing for what God had done. He never needed anyone to talk Him up or make Him happy.
And we recently welcomed February, our ‘Month of Grace’ “… Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. This month, more Grace is being released! In God’s presence, something is happening.”
