It’s been a riveting first day at the “World Evangelism Conference” as thousands have come to the United Kingdom from all over the world to take part in this catalytic event. As saints of the nations began to file into the arena, the presence of God grew increasingly more tangible and the energy throughout the room was indescribable. Prayers erupted from the audience in the opening prayer time while everyone joined in the Spirit to pray for a great impact that the World Evangelism Conference will have. The World Evangelism Conference is anticipated to greatly impact not only individual lives and ministries, but the whole world. Amen!
Following a great talk show session with panelists Evangelist Leo Quadros from India, Pastor Judah Kalinga from Kenya, and Pastor Roger Ponce from Puerto Rico, came the official opening welcome by esteemed CEO of LoveWorld Inc. and Director of the International School of Ministry, Pastor Deola Phillips. Following Pastor Deola’s welcome began the first of several sessions led by Pastor Lanre Alabi, Pastor Armando Osorio, and more admired ministers.
During the third of the Super Sessions, thousands listened closely to the incredible words of wisdom spoken by the honorable Reverend Tom Amenkhienan. With immense appreciation to the man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Reverend Tom Amenkhienan spoke about the great heroes of faith. He shared from Hebrews chapter 11, along with several more scriptures, referring to the “Hall of Faith” where you read about the greatest heroes in the faith.
“These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” Hebrews 11:39-40
Reverend Tom Amenkhienan went on to speak about David and Goliath. The greatest heroes of faith were never expected to fight on their own, for themselves. Just like the scripture above says, God has planned something far better than we think to do on our own, however He needs us in order to win the greatest victories for His name. When God gave David the slingshot, he would use to throw the rock at Goliath, it was not the power of the shot, or the strength of David. It was through wisdom from God that David was able to take down something giant with something so small and otherwise ineffective.
In this same way, God is with us and He knows how to use us to best further His kingdom. We must see the Gospel as the sling shot that David used to kill Goliath. Without God, the Gospel changes nothing. With God and with His wisdom as to how to share with others, the Gospel changes the whole world.
It has already been an incredible time here at the World Evangelism Conference for the first day. With so much spirit-filled energy, there is only more to come. Stay tuned and follow us on Twitter @christemb_USA for more updates!
