“See Yourself Through the Word & Embrace Your True Identity in Christ,” says Pastor Chris

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome encourages us to see ourselves through the Word of God. Have you ever looked into a mirror and seen something different from what others see? What if the way you see yourself could redefine your entire life—your health, your future, and your purpose? This is exactly what God wants for us: to see ourselves through the mirror of His Word.

In 2 Corinthians 3:18, the Bible tells us, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory…” This scripture isn’t just poetic. It’s a powerful revelation of the transformation that takes place when you look into the Word of God and see your true reflection—your identity in Christ.

Too often, we look at life through the lens of our challenges. Maybe a diagnosis from the doctor has made you feel like your time is running out. Or financial pressures are screaming that you’re failing. But the Word of God tells a different story. You are not the sick hoping to be healed. You are not the poor trying to be rich. And you are certainly not a failure waiting for a breakthrough.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome encourages us to see ourselves through the Word of God.

You are already victorious. You are the glory of God in Christ Jesus.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome emphasizes this truth in a teaching that reminds us how vital it is to recognize who we truly are through the Word. When you know the truth about your identity, everything changes. As Jesus said in John 8:32, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

There’s a powerful testimony Pastor Chris shared about a young man diagnosed with terminal cancer. While medical reports had written him off, something incredible happened during a Spirit-filled meeting. As Pastor Chris stood before him to minister, the Holy Spirit opened his eyes—and what he saw shocked him. There was no cancer, no growth, nothing at all wrong in the man’s body. What had been causing his suffering, then?

The answer was simple, yet profound: ignorance. He didn’t know the truth of who he was in Christ. Despite being a Christian, he had believed the lie that sickness had power over him. And as the Scripture in Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

This is not just the story of one man—it’s the story of countless believers around the world. We live far below our potential simply because we have not embraced the fullness of our identity through the Word. Psalm 82:6-7 captures this tragedy: “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men…”

God didn’t create us to be victims. He created us to reign.

When you see yourself through the Word, your mindset shifts. You stop praying like a beggar and start declaring your victory. You speak life over your body. You declare abundance in your finances. You walk in the confidence that comes from being a child of the King.

In 1 Peter 2:24, we are reminded that by the stripes of Jesus, we were healed—not “will be.” Healing, prosperity, peace, and righteousness have already been made available to us. They are not distant promises; they are present realities.

But this kind of victorious life doesn’t just fall into your lap. You must develop yourself in the Word. It’s time to stop looking at life through the lens of the world and start seeing everything through the mirror of God’s truth. The Bible is your instruction manual for a glorious life—a life of perpetual health, unshakable peace, divine favor, and unstoppable progress.

As you gaze into the Word daily, you are being transformed from glory to glory. You begin to live above limitations and walk boldly in your inheritance in Christ.

Say this out loud and let it be your daily confession:

“Dear Father, I thank you for I’m metamorphosed and positioned by the Word for the higher life of glory and triumph, filled with strength, courage, faith, and wisdom to do your will and fulfill my destiny in you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Start today. Open the Word and look—really look—into the mirror of your divine identity. What you’ll see is not weakness, but power. Not sickness, but healing. Not lack, but abundance.

You are who God says you are.
