Pastors Chris’s Sermons of Thanksgiving

Pastor Chris has called for us to give thanks. This is the month of ‘Blessings in Thanksgiving’ and it would be timely to listen to one of Pastor Chris’s sermons on the subject of thanksgiving. Thanksgiving brings about wholeness. When you thank God for something, you receive a wholeness of whatever it is. To learn more about thanksgiving visit the Pastor Chris Digital Library and listen to the message entitled ‘Giving Thanks.’

What is Thanksgiving?

It is the outward demonstration and proclamation of our love for God.

Why do we need Thanksgiving?

Because we can not hide our love for Jesus.

To whom are we giving thanks?

To God our Father of love.

How should I give my thanks?

It depends on you, so you should say it and show it.

We are grateful for the opportunity to give thank to our Lord Jesus Christ

Affirm it from your heart through your mouth.”Thank you, Lord Jesus, for loving me and for all you’ve done for me in 2019.” Following on from this idea and taking it further I will recall one of Pastor Chris’s sermons.

In one of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s sermons on the topic of thanksgiving, he says that there are four important things about thanksgiving. The first one is a prayer of thanksgiving. There’s got to be a prayer of thanksgiving coming from your heart. The prayer of thanksgiving is where you pray and thank him.  You must talk to him and express yourself with a thanksgiving flowing freely from your heart.

The second one is the worship and praise of thanksgiving.  There is a prayer and there’s a worship of thanks full of praise.

The third one is the testimony of Thanksgiving. When you bear witness to what he’s done look into your life   you don’t think about the negative things because it is about all the other big things that have been done for you. Give thanks for the joy in your heart and the peace you’ve experienced. These are better things then all the physical things that we might be thinking about. There’s so much more that God has done.

Meditate on the foundation of your spirits, the foundation of faith that has given you strength. What about hope?  You know what it is to have hope, there people who don’t have any hope but you’re full of hope. The is hope that in the future as there is so much to be thankful for.

If you look into your life this past month there’s so much to thank God for

The fourth one is the offering of thanks. You give an offering of Thanksgiving and it’s for the Lord. I would thank you and I bring this to you. I’m giving this offering of thanks- a special offer of thanks. I thank you especially in a year like this where there has been so much thank you for.

Affirmation at the end of Pastor Chris’s sermon.

Pastor Chris tells us to” make your mark today in thanking God especially and let the whole day be full of joy.  You know when you go home, when you go out of the church and you’re outside you say to yourself, “I’m going to keep thanking God for the whole day. It’s Thanksgiving, you’re full of joy so just give him praise thank you everywhere you go today.”

“Lord I think you, thank him for the challenges that I face, thanking for the difficulties because they came my way and God has the opportunity to magnify himself in my life. No matter what I’m going through it is time to thank him.”

A prayer for us during the sermon of Pastor Chris

My special prayer for you today is that “God’s Spirit will rest upon you as you thank you as you glorify Him, as you honor Him. May God receive your worship, your praise, your Thanksgiving prayer your Thanksgiving worship, your Thanksgiving offering. May God receive it from you and bless you and help you set your course for the greater future that is God for you. God is in your heart, your life is full of glory. Thanksgiving to God. Bless you.”
