The continual desire to preach the Gospel according to the message of the Man of God is imprinted on our souls the more we hear his word. The sermons of Pastor Chris Oyahkilome give us the continual encouragement to be effective soul winners.
“It’s my responsibility to tell people about Jesus.”
This quote from Corinthians (9:16) underpins everything Pastor Chris’s sermons are about. When you have taken this responsibility for yourself it is paramount you do not fail. There are seven steps you should take to become that soul winner you were called to be. The first two steps are concerning yourself.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit
Be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit and your zeal will help maintain the healthy glow that comes when you are filled with the Holy Spirit. If you are not replete with the Holy Spirit it will be difficult to draw people in. You will not be able to transfer the Holy Spirit to others if it not within you.
“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:18 – 20).
The fact that you’ve received the Holy Spirit doesn’t mean you’ll always be full of Him. You must continually practice being filled with Him. This is the first step to perfecting your soul winning efforts. You must be afire, aglow, enthusiastic and full of zeal about the Kingdom.
Romans 12:11 (AMP) says: “Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” This is what happens to you when you are filled with Spirit. When you are constantly filled with the Spirit of God and overflowing with His love, it will be effortless to spread the Gospel as it will be in your consciousness.
All your waking moments, you’re to be full of the Spirit, and when that happens, your life will be one of unstoppable success and ever-increasing glory. You will surround yourself with Holy thoughts and sing holy songs. Today there are many amazing radio and tv channels full of wholesome Christian vibes and good gospel music.
This will allow you to consciously talk, sing, and make a melody of the Word, in your heart, to the Lord. Your prayers and praise will flow naturally. This is a simple but very profound instruction given to us by the Spirit, and if you’ll practice it constantly and consistently, you will experience the blessings thereof.
Say the affirmation from the sermon of Pastor Chris
“I’m continually filled with the Spirit, in wisdom, sound judgment, knowledge, glory, and dominion! No barrier can stand in my path. There’re no impossibilities or limitations to me; I’m full of might and power by the Spirit of the Lord, for works of righteousness. Blessed be God.”
Have an understanding of the gospel.
Have a clear understanding of the gospel doesn’t just happen. You have to invest time and work on it, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
Having a clear understanding of the Gospel is vital to effectively communicate it. Otherwise, you’d preach the gospel without the clarity and passion needed to be effective. At Christ Embassy there is a wealth of teaching materials that give in-depth an explanation of what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. You can access audio and video recordings on the Pastor Chris Digital Library to develop your comprehension of the Gospel.

In his sermons Pastor Chris said, “there’re no options to the Gospel. There’s no other way to the Father, except Jesus Christ. He said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). This is absolute reality, and it must form the basis of your convictions: your speech, your thinking. Your outlook on life must be from this understanding and persuasion about Christ and His Gospel.”
