In a recent sermon from Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, he talks about the power of words in our lives, using a verse from John 1:1 to illustrate his point: “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God, all things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made.”
Pastor Chris expands on this by saying: “Jesus talked to deaf ears, He spoke words to deaf ears, He told the deaf ears to open up, they opened, He didn’t have to touch them, He didn’t have to fix anything, He didn’t have to give them something to drink so it’ll happen, He didn’t have to give them something to swallow so that a miracle will happen, He only spoke words. He spoke to the maimed; those who had their limbs amputated, and the bible says the maimed were restored. Jesus talked to the crippled and their limbs were healed, Jesus talked to the dead, and they came back to life. He used words, then he talked to the winds and the waves, and it calmed. He was a master of words.”
We see this happening in every testimony from the Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris. He creates an atmosphere for faith and miracles to happen so that the Holy Spirit can bring divine healing to everyone that requires healing for their bodies.
Continuing with the example from above, Pastor Chris tells us that Jesus went to Simon Peter’s house. “The Bible tells us that Simon Peter’s mother-in-law was sick: she had a fever, and the Bible says Jesus stood over her and rebuked the fever, he talked to the fever to leave the woman and right away she was healed.
“He spoke words because the most powerful force in the world is the force of words. Words are potent, words are powerful, and the whole world came out of words. God brought us salvation with words, and then he showed us in the scriptures how to receive salvation, He said use words.”
The Man of God explains that man would go to heaven or hell according to the words that he spoke. If he spoke the words that God said to speak for salvation, he will have salvation, but if he didn’t, he will go to hell.
Jesus told us to live the life that he gave us, and for you to do that you’ve got to use words to live the authentic Christian Life.
Daily Devotional describes the value of our words
Continuing this theme, we read in today’s Rhapsody of Realities that words are seeds.
Galatians 6:7 says: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Pastor Chris explains that if you sow the right words into your life and future, they’ll produce the right harvest. He teaches us to steer our lives in God’s direction with the right words. “You can’t keep speaking negatively and expect to have an excellent life,” he tells us.
Words release power
It is written in Proverbs 15:4: “A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.”
“A wholesome tongue is one that speaks life, health, healing, righteousness, and abundance,” says Pastor Chris. “The most potent force in the universe is the force of words. Through them, God created the entire world; He framed everything with His words and lets us know we can do the same. Words release spirit-power.”
The Man of God tells us that speaking words that are inconsistent with the Gospel damages our spirit, our words direct our lives.
Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your speech (your words) be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
Words are your life, says Pastor Chris
There’s a spiritual language for Christians, which is why, as a child of God, you should speak the Word of God, because the supernatural life is based on your words, says Pastor Chris. Your tongue rules your life.
He expands on this point by saying: “Your life today is the harvest of all the words you’ve been speaking. Therefore, always speak righteousness, peace, health, wealth, and joy.”
Everyone releases spirit when he speaks, but not everyone releases life. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Create and sustain your glorious life with your words. You can be anything you want to be, have anything you want to have, and achieve anything you want to achieve with your words.
The fact that God gave us the ability to speak is evidence of His great love for us, for He gave us the tools to frame our worlds to conform to His perfect will. We’re the products of words. The right words can build us, but the wrong words can destroy us.
Watch what you say, for your confessions control your life. You can keep yourself in health, safety, prosperity, and victory with your words. Stir your life in the direction of God’s destiny for you with your faith-filled confessions.
Remember, your tomorrow will be a reflection of the words you speak today, so speak life-giving words.
