Many Christians wonder why they don’t experience the power of God, as they should. It is this act of ministering to God that is needed to be understood and undertaken with wholehearted sincerity. It’s so vital to learn how to minister to the Lord and more importantly when to pray the prayer of worship. Click here to listen to the teaching.
The first two verses of Acts 13 hold a key to unlocking this concept. “Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Pastor Chris asks us to note that the Spirit spoke after they had ‘ministered to the Lord’ in the scripture.
This is a very important aspect of our Christian service. Ministering to the Lord is the essence of worship. You will never know the depth in the Spirit beyond the ordinary until you start ministering to the Lord. Ministering to the Lord is something you do consciously, not passively.
If you’re ignorant of the things of God and His mode of operation, you wouldn’t know how to put yourself in the way of His blessings. God has already done what He’s supposed to do, but you must put yourself in the right position to receive.
What do we minister to God?
Hebrews 13:15 shows us what to minister to the Lord: “By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name,” which means ‘the tribute or speech that acknowledges and celebrates the Name of the Lord.’
Pastor Chris tells us that when you share His testimonies for instance, you’re ministering to the Lord. As you make those confessions in His Name, Jesus, being your Great High Priest, presents them before the Father, who receives your words of praise and worship as a sacrifice of a sweet-smelling savor. There’s so much to thank Him for, so, lift your hands in worship and adoration, not because you want to ask for anything. Learn to adore Him and to bless Him for who He is.
Attend to My Words
In Proverbs, four Pastor Chris teaches us that words have curative powers. ” For they are life unto those that find them,” the words that we must attend to are described as coming from the Hebrew word “Marpeh” which means medicine or cure. So, His words are medicine to those that find them.
Curative powers of Gods words
Pastor says give me your attention as they minister to the Lord as the first thing you need to administer the Lord is to give him your attention attain to my words that means you set a time aside you take the Bible you sit down there, or you put the tape on and then you shut that door and you’re going to listen to the Word of God you’re going to study the Word of God you’re going to give attention to his word.
Stop attending to the pain change your focus minister to the Lord are you hearing me change your focus you have said enough. For example, say “Lord I thank you for giving me a wonderful body to serve you with glories of God this body belongs to you it is strengthened and healthy thank you, Lord.” Humble yourself before the Lord.
