Join the InnerCity Mission in Celebrating the International Day of Charity

It’s time to make a difference in the world and show what the genuine love of God looks like in action. September 5th is celebrated annually as the International Day of Charity and this has always been very close to the heart of our man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Whether it is supporting monetary needs or physical, Pastor Chris has made an incredible impact in communities throughout Africa and beyond.

As we observe this new month of Uplifting, there is no better time than to invest in the lives of our children and future young leaders. The InnerCity Mission is at work every day raising support, as well as awareness, of the need for child education. Through the Back-To-School Campaign, we are all invited to take part in making an impactful difference in the lives of children.

The month of September marks the beginning of a new academic year and new opportunities for students to grow into the leaders they will soon become. The International Day of Charity is intended to raise awareness of various needs in the world by highlighting charitable efforts that support those needs. The hope is that people would learn about organizations like the InnerCity Mission for Children and donate to the causes in which they stand for.

According to the United Nations, “International days are occasions to educate the public on issues of concern, to mobilize political will and resources to address global problems, and to celebrate and reinforce achievements of humanity.”

InnerCity Mission invites all to donate to the various working parts of the overall organization. Whether you feel that God is leading you to support a child’s education for a full academic year or to provide educational supplies that countless children are lacking, you are making an incredible difference in the lives of many.

“Instead of asking for help and waiting for others to give you, be the helper, be the giver, be a solution- provider.” – Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. DD

When we give, we do not have to concern ourselves with how much our support will help someone. Even if it is $1 or $1,000, it is the giver who is blessed. God wants us to give and give freely to those in need because, at the end of it all, we are only here to do His will. As we show obedience in the small things, God is pleased just the same and every little bit that is given adds to the great potential that He has placed in every child born into this world.

This month, as we celebrate the International Day of Charity, the month of Uplifting and the start of a fruitful school year, we encourage you to join us in what God is doing through the InnerCity Mission. You can visit their website for donations here, as well as visit the online Charity Shop to purchase supplies directly for the children in need.
