Every Sunday the LoveWorld Children’s Ministry provides educational content for the next generation of devoted Christians. It’s a great opportunity to instill Christ values in children early on so that they can grow up to be productive and faithful members of their church community.
Through the Bible and our very own Rhapsody of Realities, it is possible to teach values of love and caring, exposing our kids to the good in the world. This will ensure the mental prosperity and resilience of our kids, learning that Jesus is their path to success.
Here’s what we have planned for this Holy Day:
The Upper Elementary and Preteens will be discussing the idea of Not worrying.
“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins” (1 John 4:10).
God is forever with us, and should not worry about being alone or abandoned. So long as we keep faith we are never alone. The Lord’s love is with us no matter where we go.
The Nursery kids will learn that Joseph’s Family has no food.
This will provide them with a new perspective on what we have and what others may not.
We need to appreciate what God has given us. At the same time, we must have compassion on those that are less fortunate just as Jesus did.
The Elementary Kids will be taught to tell the truth at all times.
“Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another” (Ephesians 4:25).
Understanding the concept is not enough, our children need to be exposed to the idea of community. Christianity is solidified in the community we create around of believers. The church is that community and lying ruins the fabric of that community. When we lie we hurt ourselves, God and the church and society we belong to.
The preschoolers will learn about Joshua and the walls of Jericho. It will be a lesson in the power of faith and belief and how strong the power we have when we maintain a connection with the Lord. A great lesson for life!
“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days” (Hebrews 11:30)
The Preteens will learn of the hope of the world. God is looking out for us even after death.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
If we seek salvation we will be saved and find ourselves living eternity and heaven. Thus we need to dedicate our lives to the Lord and the message of Christ.
