At the May Global Communion Service and Praise Night, the global audience waited in anticipation to hear about the word of the month from the Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.
The joy was palpable when Pastor Chris announced that May was to be the ‘Month of Praise’. He explained that God is preparing His people for the upcoming ‘Unending Praise’ in the month of June.
Pastor Chris told the global audience in the past; “Praising God is a spiritual sacrifice. It’s an offering. It’s something that you actually give to God. Our praises have spiritual significance. They don’t come to God as songs. In heaven, these songs don’t sound like songs. They have a meaning. They come as incense to Him.”
Pastor Chris Explains the Sacrifice of Praise
“By him, therefore, let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God by continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15)
“The sacrifices of praise are the confessions, declarations, psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs of glory, grace, and goodness of God that we make unto Him. It’s different from saying, “I praise you Lord, I just thank you for everything”…praise is more than that. Praising God means giving thanks to His Name for definite reasons,” explains Pastor Chris.
He goes on to say that in the Old Testament, the priests offered specific offerings to God; they offered sacrifices of burnt offerings and burnt incense, according to the specifications of the law. In the New Testament, we are also admonished to offer sacrifices of praise to God and Hebrews 13:15 clearly describes the content of the sacrifice we’ve been called to offer: “By him(Jesus Christ) there-Fore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.’’
“As you worship the Lord and adore Him, making confessions to His Name, you’re offering unto Him the sacrifice of praise. As you offer quality praise and present your body to Him as a living sacrifice, you send forth incense unto Him, and His presence rubs off on you and overshadows you.”
God’s Word is the seed of divine life, says Pastor Chris
Pastor Chris teaches us that “when you receive God’s Word, you receive the life of whatever it talks about; whatever you’re hearing from God is the seed to produce in you, or for you, what it talks about. For example, when we preach and teach divine healing, the hearer receives the seed of healing and it produces healing and health. Likewise, when we teach God’s Word on the subject of finances, it produces the seed of financial blessings and miracles. That’s the power of God’s Word!”
“Stop asking God for things in prayer. Use the power and privilege of prayer for higher purposes, like fellowship with the Father. You own the world. All things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21) because you’re the seed of Abraham,” Pastor Chris tells us in Rhapsody of Realities.
God’s Word Removes all Darkness from our Lives
In the Bible in 2 Corinthians 4:6, it is written: “For it is the God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
That means no more darkness, no more confusion, and no more uncertainties in your life. There’s direction and purpose for your life because you have the light of life: “…I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12).
The eyes of your understanding have been flooded with light so that you can know and understand the hope to which God has called you and grasp the immensity of His glorious inheritance for you. Because the Word was born, and now lives in your heart, you can boldly declare that the life of God is in you; the strength of God is in you; you’re a success and a victor forever. Apart from being light, the Word is also truth: “…Your word is truth” (John 17:17). The truth lives in you.
The truth is His light; the truth is His Word, and you’re walking in the truth. The truth is that you’re of God, and have overcome Satan, the world, and it’s systems (1 John 4:4). The truth is that you’ve arrived in the place called “Christ”, where sickness, disease, and infirmity have lost their grip on you. Nothing of darkness can thrive in your body anymore because your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost; He lives in every fiber of your being.
