Grasp the Most out of the ‘Year of Perfection’

Our Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome says that “prayer doesn’t require a convenient place per se; you can pray anywhere, in any position. You don’t necessarily have to find a place where you can kneel or a place that’s high enough for you to lift your hands or a place where you can shout. You can pray as quietly as possible, or as loudly as you want; you can pray sitting, lying, kneeling—whatever position. What’s important is that you pray. So you have no excuse not to pray. Make a decision to pray always—anywhere—and God will hear and answer you”.

What is Prayer?

Pastor Chris reminds us that prayer is an important aspect of who we are as Christians; it’s our priestly ministry to pray. Jesus said, “…men ought always to pray, and not to faint” (Luke 18:1). Oftentimes, people go through difficulties in their lives and don’t know what to do. Not many know how to pray the right way. God told us to pray, not for praying sake, but because He planned to answer.

Our faith must be based on what God’s Word says, because if God’s Word covers whatever we’re praying about, then we can be sure to receive answers because we’re asking in line with His Word. Faith is based on the Word. True faith is only imparted by the Word.

Some Christians pray and nothing happens because the words spoken aren’t inspired and communicated by the power of the Holy Spirit. You have to pray always by the Holy Spirit; the words have to be energized, communicated, inspired, and anointed by the Holy Ghost. That’s what makes the difference.

The New Year is when we stop for a moment and reflect on the past and look forward to the future. It’s an opportunity to repent the sins we have committed and place a vow to do better in the following year. It’s a time to pause the normal routine of our lives and connect once more to the values of Christ Pastor Chris Oyakhilome instills in us when preaching.

This year, the ‘Year of Perfection’, it is truly an honor to take part in the annual December 31st New Year’s Eve Service with Pastor Chris and many other prestigious guests. The event will be kicked off with the Future Africa Leaders Award (FALA) celebrating the young, bright, and talented influencers in Africa today.

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). It’s that special time of the Year when we hear the ”Thus saith the Lord for the Year 2021”, and we receive that one Word we need for 2021, as we join our Man of God, along with billions of viewers around the world for the New Year’s Eve Service.
