Make a difference through faith; the innercity mission, a faith based ngo
The InnerCity Mission is a faith-based Non-Governmental Organization helping inner city children all over the world. Founded by the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation in 2005, the InnerCity Mission for Children supports the helpless and orphaned living in destitute communities. The organization has various sustainable and participatory interventions such as its Child Development, Child care and support, Health and Nutrition, Family Strengthening, Inner City Mission for Children School and other such programs which help these impoverished children in families, community schools and related underprivileged institutions afflicted by poverty.
THE VISION: ‘EVERY CHILD IS YOUR CHILD’
The InnerCity Mission is dedicated to breaking the chains of cyclical poverty through sustainable solutions targeting urban and rural child poverty. The fulfilling work InnerCity Mission carries out aims to give every indigent child’s life a meaning; to erase the destitution they know, and replace these memories with hope and a future. The vision is to create a world in which all excluded, vulnerable and orphaned inner city children are free from poverty and able to fulfil their God-given potential, consequently transforming into responsible, independent adults, profit
able to society. The InnerCity Mission provides food, clothing, shelter, medicine and accommodation to hundreds of children living in especially challenging circumstances throughout Africa.
The GEMS INITIATIVE
In order to touch the lives of children in inner cities through food provision, technology, education, liberal arts and more, a monthly giving program was set up; GEMs (Giving Every Month). This initiative is for Partners committed to making regular financial contributions to the InnerCity Mission for Children. Donations from the GEMs Initiative provide dependable and consistent financial support to the poverty-stricken children, as well as guaranteeing the monthly commitment to care for and support needy children and their families through various sustainable initiatives. GEMs donors will receive monthly E-Newsletters containing news of the impact made in these children’s lives, the opportunity to go on guided tours to the InnerCity Mission Facilities and participate in activities, or visit communities in which the InnerCity Mission currently operates.
